Cranleigh pupils are managing the long winter days of lockdown with a huge range of remote co-curricular activities to complement their academics.

From our Director of Sport’s CRANFIT daily high intensity workouts to virtual choirs and remote rehearsals for three different plays, there’s a chance for pupils to get involved and develop new interests.

Each of our boarding houses is also sending out their own challenges and activities for pupils and their families.

There are obvious mental and physical benefits to joining in with regular exercise. Pupils are joining daily running, individual sports programmes and strength and conditioning. High-performance sports sessions and Dance lessons are also continuing online.

Connection and team work are equally important in Music and as well as the individual lessons and all choirs running remotely, there’s a multi-year group symphonic wind band project. Drama continues with three years groups rehearsing for performance.

Pupils studying Art can enjoy online ‘open studio sessions’ and the department is also offering advice and feedback for anyone trying recreational art projects. Design pupils are also enjoying additional sessions.

Thirteen clubs offer different activities, from Art History to Cookery, Touch Typing to Gardening. The programme will evolve further over coming weeks to keep pupils engaged and connected while apart.
