For an exam art project, it’s always good to look widely for inspiration and the Victoria and Albert Museum, where our Upper Fifth artists visited this week, is a great place to start. This year’s exam theme is ‘Reflection’. At its most basic the project is about shiny objects, and the V&A is full of those. With 2.5 million objects in its collection (not all on display) Cranleighians were spoiled for choice. From the new photographic displays, to artefacts from all sorts of cultures and periods, from paintings and prints, to fashion and ceramics, furniture and precious objects, there was plenty to investigate through sketching, note taking and photographs.
