Lower Sixth Form artists enjoyed an excellent day out visiting ‘Mixing it Up‘, a show of 31 contemporary painters working in the UK today, followed by a visit to the collections at Tate Modern. It had been hard work to organise, with restrictions on visitor numbers still in place, but worth it for our artists – some of whom had last visited a gallery in the Lower Fifth (Year 10). We spent time sketching and looking at the work in the Hayward before walking the Thames south bank path to Tate Modern. Despite the grey weather students were in high spirits, and the varied and exciting work at Tate inspired us all. The 4 hour journey home in awful traffic was less pleasing!
