A lively atmosphere filled our exhibition spaces as our annual A Level and GCSE Art Exhibitions opened their doors just before half term. The event marked the culmination of 2 years of hard work by our Year 11 (GCSE) and Year 13 (A Level) students, with delicious refreshments from the school caterers fuelling conversations around their impressive creations.
Over 50 Year 11 and 16 Year 13 students proudly showcased their work across the four studios: Printmaking, Painting, Sculpture, and Photography. The 52 GCSE students displayed a remarkable range of styles, techniques, and themes, with many pieces featuring exciting mixed media. From textiles incorporated into layered screen-prints to meticulously combined cyanotypes, their enthusiasm and experimentation shone through. The A Level students also demonstrated exceptional skill and ambition. Fashion and textile-inspired elements throughout the show were a highlight.
The evening was filled with warmth as students engaged with families and friends, discussing the inspiration behind their work, the techniques used, and the stories their art aimed to tell.
The exhibition offers a glimpse into the creativity and imagination of our students. From meticulously crafted mixed media to expressive paintings and extraordinary sculptures, the artwork left a lasting impression on all who attended.
The exhibition remains open until June 22nd.
