What enrichment opportunities do Reception pupils get?
Enrichment activities are part of the weekly timetable in Reception. Singing, sport, French, Forest School and creative sessions give children regular opportunities to enjoy fun, confidence-building experiences beyond classroom learning. Activities are led by Cranleigh Early Years staff and trusted specialists in a familiar setting where children feel comfortable joining in.
How does Cranleigh build confidence through participation?
Confidence grows through simple daily moments. Co-curricular Pre-Prep activities at our school in Surrey ensure every child has frequent chances to sing, act, share and join group tasks without pressure or auditions, helping their self-belief build gently over time.
What clubs are available in Reception?
Cranleigh Reception pupils can join Mini Music, Multi-Skills Sport and Storytelling Club, with playful sessions making it fun to explore new interests. Clubs run during or just after the school day, with termly introductions and tasters helping children see what’s on offer and try clubs before committing. Clubs finish in time for wraparound care.

Cranleigh Reception is a wonderfully imaginative time, with singing, music, dance, drama and storytelling encouraging children to create, connect and grow in confidence. Sessions are joyful, hands-on and crafted to nurture creativity.

Parents then have plenty of time to choose the clubs their child would like to join. Places are allocated based on pupil preferences rather than on a first-come, first-served basis, ensuring the process is fair and gives everyone the opportunity to take part.
