How does wraparound care work for Pre-School and Reception?

Wraparound care for Pre-School and Reception takes place onsite, offering a calm, familiar start and end to each day. The Early Bird Club runs from 7.45am - 8.30am, providing convenient care for Reception and Pre-School pupils. After school, 4-7 years olds can stay for The Compass Club which runs activities from 4pm to 6pm, with the option to stay for a sandwich supper until 6pm. It’s a friendly, flexible end to the school day, with children happily absorbed in reading or play.

What are the morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up times?

Morning drop-off for the Early Bird Club begins at 7.45am, allowing for a calm and settled start to the day. Afternoon pick-up from The Compass Club is flexible between 4pm and 6pm, with late stays bookable in advance. 

Communications will go out at the beginning of each term for you to book your child into wraparound care. For any adhoc bookings please email wraparoundcare@cranleigh.org.

What care is available beyond the Pre-Prep school day?

After school, pupils aged 4-7 years can join The Compass Club for supervised care until 6pm, Monday to Friday during term-time. Late stays at The Compass Club from 4pm - 6pm can be booked in advance, giving families flexible care when they need it.

What food is provided at Compass Club?

Light snacks are provided between 4pm - 5pm, which includes healthy, balanced options such as rice cakes, yoghurts, fresh fruit, and vegetable sticks with dips.

Pupils coming to The Compass Club enjoy a light tea served between 5pm and 6pm. The food is healthy, tasty and caters for different dietary needs, ensuring every child is well looked after during their time with us. This includes a selection of sandwiches, served with fresh fruits, yogurts, and vegetable crudites with dips.

Compass Club at Cranleigh offers a balanced rhythm of activity and calm, with hours supporting the needs of working parents and activities supporting the developmental needs of children in early years education in Surrey and beyond.

How is wraparound care supervised at Cranleigh?

Wraparound care at Cranleigh is supervised by trusted staff, with named session leads providing the consistency children love. Safeguarding procedures run at all times, and every child is collected through a secure, sign-out system. The focus is on creating a warm, calm environment where every pupil feels safe.

Are meals provided?

Yes, ad-hoc sessions can be booked but are subject to availability.
