What collaborative activities do Years 1–2 pupils do?

Years 1–2 is all about shared experiences – trying new things, joining in with friends and discovering what sparks interest. Pupils learn through doing things together – creating, problem-solving, storytelling and taking on whole-class projects. It’s a collaborative approach that builds confidence and pride as they explore together.

What clubs are available in Years 1–2?

Children can choose a mix of clubs just right for their age. Some of the clubs on offer next term include:

Most Year 1-2 extracurricular clubs are opt-in and children happily join two or three times a week. Clubs run after school, with the first session running from 4.00pm - 4.45pm, and the second session from 4.50pm - 5.45pm.

How does Cranleigh use outdoor learning in Years 1–2?

Outdoor learning is a regular part of the Pre-Prep week. Children head to Forest School, explore the garden plots, go on seasonal walks and learn through nature-based play. The fresh air and natural surroundings help their curiosity and confidence grow.

What collaborative projects do Years 1–2 pupils do?

Pupils work together on whole-class topic projects ending in exhibitions, open-classroom moments, small performances or parent showcases. It’s a lovely way for them to share ideas, feel proud of what they’ve created and celebrate the term's achievements.

How does Cranleigh build personal development in Years 1–2?

Personal development grows through small moments each day. Teachers encourage confidence, kindness, good listening and early leadership. Children take turns, share ideas, help one another and celebrate each other’s progress. Over time, these habits nurture them into thoughtful, capable young people.
