Cranleigh Futures
The Futures journey begins at Cranleigh Prep and evolves throughout a pupil’s education. From the outset, pupils are encouraged to reflect on how the choices they make now might influence their lives in 3, 5, or 10 years time. The Cranleigh 3-5-10 Futures programme guides pupils on a future-readiness journey, helping them explore their interests and build the skills, confidence and self-awareness they need for modern life beyond our independent school in Surrey.
What is the Cranleigh Futures curriculum?
Cranleigh Futures is a long-term journey of life skills, personal development and career conversations that runs from Prep right through to Sixth Form. It prepares pupils for life beyond school, helping them understand their strengths, make confident decisions, and explore future pathways with curiosity and ambition.
What is the aim of the Cranleigh Futures programme?
The Cranleigh Futures programme combines academic stretch with real-world experiences to help children grow in confidence, character and independence.

What does Futures look like from Years 1-8?
Our Futures programme starts from Years 1 & 2 all the way up to Years 7 and 8 at Cranleigh Prep, introducing pupils to important life skills from the very beginning.
Key Stage 1 (Years 1–2, Ages 5-7)
A gentle introduction to early aspirations, helping children build confidence and curiosity through play-based, collaborative learning.
- Exploring the wider world to discover interests
- Goal setting and perseverance
- Communication and self-expression
- Working together to solve simple problems
Key Stage 2 (Years 3–6, Ages 7-11)
A shift towards practical skills, independence and real-world understanding.
- Enterprise and financial literacy

- Leadership and teamwork
- Building resilience through challenge
- Community engagement
Examples include enterprise projects, budgeting and pitching and social-impact initiatives.
Key Stage 3 (Years 7–8, Ages 11-14)
As part of the Cranleigh Foundation Diploma, pupils are given a more independent, future-focused stage where they gain real-world experience and begin exploring future pathways.

Examples include SPARK courses (Project Pioneers, Budget Boss, Power Speak), careers guidance and fairs, SATRO Business Day, and real-world simulations.
