The Cranleigh Centre for Research is our home for curiosity, fresh thinking and evidence-informed practice – a supportive space where ideas, questions and real classroom insights come together to shape great teaching and influence wider educational thinking. At its heart is a simple belief: when teachers keep learning, pupils keep thriving.
What happens at the Centre?
The Cranleigh Centre for Research is a school-based hub working to enhance teaching, learning and educational leadership. We champion evidence-informed practice, support meaningful practitioner research and collaborate with schools, universities and educational organisations to spark fresh thinking and professional dialogue. Everything we do connects research with real classroom practice so teachers keep learning, pupils keep thriving and ideas – grounded in evidence and shaped by lived experience – ripple out into the wider education community.
This work comes to life through four key areas:
The Journal
Our newly launched annual journal showcases research, reflection and innovation from across the Cranleigh community. It features practitioner research, thought pieces and evidence-informed approaches to teaching and learning emerging directly from classroom practice.
Every edition welcomes contributions from collaborators and guest authors and is available to download, with an archive as the journal grows.
Events & Professional Development
The Centre is developing a programme of conferences, workshops and professional learning for teachers, school leaders and researchers. These events blend research evidence with practical application and are led by Cranleigh staff and invited specialist.
Resources, Insights & Research
Our growing library of research reports, teaching resources, slide decks and practical guidance is designed for teachers who want clear, evidence-informed approaches they can use straight away. You’ll also find short articles that translate research into everyday classroom practice, plus case studies from Cranleigh classrooms and collaborative projects.
Collaboration & Community
The Centre welcomes collaboration with schools, universities and educational organisations. Practitioner research is strengthened through discussion, partnership and shared enquiry, with a commitment to sharing ideas openly for the benefit of the wider
