The Cranleigh Foundation

What is the Cranleigh Foundation?

The Cranleigh Foundation (Registered Charity No 1122918)  is a registered charity giving children who have had an extremely difficult start in life the opportunity to join the Cranleigh community. In recent years, Foundationer places have gone to:

  • Children who have lost the support of one or both of their parents through exceptional or tragic circumstances.
  • Children who have experience of the social care system or are ‘looked after’.
  • Vulnerable children with a challenging history and unsettled home life.

Cranleigh was founded on philanthropy and generous charitable donations are the lifeblood of the Foundation.  Click on the video here to find out who the Foundation supports and how you can make a difference to young people by giving them the chance to be part of our nurturing Community.

Changing lives

To find out more about the impact on an individual life please view Jesse Dunbar’s story.  Jesse is a Foundationer alumni Year of 2021.

Although some parents or guardians of Foundationer pupils might be in a position to make a financial contribution to a child’s education, most will not, and the Foundation most commonly fully funds a Foundationer’s education.

The Cranleigh Foundation works with the Royal National Children’ Springboard Foundation, who identify looked after and vulnerable children who would benefit from a boarding education.

"The Foundation stepped in to help my daughter at what was a very difficult time in her life. She realises how lucky she is and that without their support, and the school’s, she would not have succeeded as she has done."
