Cranleigh School is delighted to mark another year of outstanding GCSE achievements, with Year 11 pupils receiving an excellent set of examination results today. Overall, 71% of all results were awarded grades 9–7, with almost half of them being graded 9 - 8. There were some strong individual performances by 18 pupils who achieved Grade 9 - 8 in all of their GCSEs.

Success was widespread across the curriculum. In STEM subjects, 80% of pupils achieved grades 9 - 7, with nearly half achieving grades 9 - 8 and in Humanities subjects, 85% of pupils achieved grades 9 - 7, with over two thirds achieving grades 9 - 8.

Cranleigh School also continues to champion the power and value of the Performing Arts with 81% of Drama pupils achieving a grade 9 - 7 and a superb 85% achieved the highest mark of Distinction in their LAMDA exams, which included three Gold Medals.

Design Engineering pupils have also been particularly successful with over half of them achieving grades 9 - 8 and over 75% achieved grades 9 - 7. This further cements Cranleigh’s appointment as a Design and Technology Association Hub School for the Southeast region by the Design and Technology Association earlier in the year.

Sam Price, Head of Cranleigh School said:

"These impressive outcomes reflect the dedication and perseverance of our Year 11 cohort, who have encouraged one another throughout their studies while benefiting from the expert guidance of our teaching staff.

"What makes these results particularly commendable is that they were achieved alongside rich co-curricular commitments. Whether competing on the sports field, taking the lead on stage, or embarking on outdoor expeditions, our students have successfully balanced academic rigor with energetic involvement in school life.

"As the majority of our Year 11 pupils prepare to step into the Cranleigh Sixth Form, alongside those taking specialised vocational or international pathways, we congratulate them on their hard work and look forward to seeing them flourish in their A Level studies."
