What residential trips do Senior pupils go on?

Senior pupils enjoy a range of expeditions and residential trips. They might head off on outdoor camps, take part in assessed expeditions or join an overseas trip at Gold DofE level. Each trip encourages them step up, adapt and take on more responsibility.

How does the Duke of Edinburgh's Award (DofE) work at Cranleigh?

Cranleigh offers a structured DofE pathway: Bronze in Year 9, Silver in Year 10 and Gold in the Sixth Form. Along the way, pupils learn new skills, volunteer, plan routes and take on challenging expeditions. It’s a hands-on programme building teamwork, resilience and problem-solving skills.

How does the Combined Cadet Force (CCF) work at Cranleigh?

The CCF programme runs throughout Year 10 with the option to continue from Lower Fifth onwards. The Army section focuses on leadership, discipline and teamwork, helping cadets grow in confidence as they take on responsibility and learn new skills. Pupils also get involved in meaningful service through partnerships with local schools and charities.

What outdoor activities are available at Cranleigh Senior?

Expeditions and adventure at our senior school in Surrey include climbing, adventure training, sailing, water-based activities and outdoor camps. These activities stretch pupils mentally and physically, helping them realise what they’re capable of and leave them excited for the next adventure.
