What is the day pupil experience at Cranleigh Senior?
Day pupils at our Senior School in Surrey are fully integrated into the life of the school, moving through the day alongside boarders and taking part in the same House system. They benefit from the same pastoral support, strong relationships with staff and opportunities to participate in House events, competitions and traditions.
Most day pupils follow a familiar flow:
Bus or drop-off → chapel → lessons → lunch → lessons → sport/activities → prep → supper or home.
This steady rhythm keeps them connected to their House and the wider school community.
What time does the Senior day start and finish?
Following drop off at 7.45am, the Senior day runs from 8.00am to 5.45pm, with House life woven through it. At a nominal cost, many day pupils choose to extend their time at school by staying for supper, and joining evening activities, depending on what works best for family life. Cranleigh has daily bus routes across Surrey, Sussex and into London so pupils from a wide area can access a Cranleigh education. The buses provide safe and reliable transport, keeping journeys simple for busy families.
Cranleigh publishes its Senior fees transparently, with a separate day fee structure for each year group. Families can also explore sibling considerations and bursary support for help accessing a Cranleigh education.
Day pupils are collected at 5.45pm which is before supper but they can stay for supper on an ad hoc basis for an additional fee.
Or if you want them to stay regularly for supper, you can choose the Day Plus model which also includes supervised homework and activities with the boarders until 8.45pm, as well as one night’s boarding (and a second night for a preferential fee).
Yes. Day pupils are fully integrated into the boarding Houses and enjoy the same sense of belonging, pastoral support and opportunities as boarding pupils. As the number of pupils choosing the Day model grows, there may be a move towards dedicated Day Houses in the future; parents will be kept fully informed should any changes take place.
