How does flexi boarding work at Cranleigh?
Day Plus is Cranleigh’s flexible boarding option for day pupils from Surrey and beyond. Pupils enjoy the best of both worlds – the flexibility of going home when it suits their family, with the option to stay overnight for one or two nights a week. Day Plus pupils join boarders for supervised prep, supper and evening activities as part of House life. They sleep in their own House, follow the same evening routine as boarders and receive full pastoral care throughout their stay.
Day Plus pupils who are not staying overnight can still enjoy the evening programme with boarders, typically heading home at 8.45pm, although families can choose an earlier collection time if needed.
How flexible is Day Plus at Cranleigh?
Cranleigh’s flexi boarding option, Day Plus, is designed to fit naturally around family life. Families can choose one or two overnight stays a week, with preferred nights booked in advance for the term. Each House manages its own capacity, helping families build Day Plus around their routines.
What time does the Senior day start and finish?
The Senior day typically runs from drop off at 7.45am, with the school day starting at 8.00am and running to 5.45pm, including lessons and co-curricular activities. Day Plus fits naturally into this rhythm, with supper, prep and the evening programme continuing after the main school day ends. Pupils typically stay until 8.45pm, but families can choose an earlier collection time when needed from 5.45pm, giving them the flexibility to tailor the experience around their routines.
What bus routes serve Cranleigh Senior?
We offer daily and weekend Cranleigh School bus routes from Guildford, Cobham, Horsham, Billingshurst, Godalming, Haslemere, Shere, Albury, Chilworth, Shalford, Dunsfold and surrounding villages. We also offer routes from key London locations including Wimbledon, Balham and Parsons Green.
What are the Day Plus fees?
Cranleigh has clear Day Plus rates alongside its full boarding and day fees. The fee includes one night’s boarding each week, breakfast, supper and full pastoral care, with a second night costing £100. Details of our fees are shown below.

How many nights can my child stay?
Families can book up to two overnight stays a week. One night is included within the Day Plus fee, with a second night available for £100.
How do I book my child’s boarding nights?
Families choose their child's Day Plus overnight stays before the start of each term through their child's House. Preferred nights are subject to House capacity and are then booked for the term, giving families regular, predictable flexibility.
Where does my child sleep?
Day Plus pupils sleep in their Boarding House alongside their boarding friends, becoming part of the same House community and evening routine as boarders.
Are meals and snacks included?
Yes. Breakfast and supper are included as part of the Day Plus fee for overnight stays. Toast is also available in Houses as a snack.
Will my child have their own study space?
Yes. Day Plus pupils have a study desk allocated in their boarding House, giving them a place to work and keep their belongings when they are staying overnight.
Is Day Plus charged per night?
